From comedy and magic
to Polynesian extravaganzas and showbands you'll want to spend
a few evenings enjoying local, national and international stars.
A must-do is a luau.
Luaus include a Hawaiian feast, hula dancing, singing and ancient
arts, crafts, games and ceremonies.
Oahu
Germaine's Luau. The
authenticity of a "backyard-style" luau is captured
with excellent hula, costumes and an all-you-can-eat banquet.
Their famous fire knife dance highlights the show.
Magic of Polynesia.
Hawaii's top illusionist headlines an extravaganza of music and
magic. Spectacular sets include an erupting volcano, tropical
birds, animated props and an outstanding musical score. Dinner
and cocktail seatings are available or try the combination cruise
package.
Paradise
Cove Luau Village. The setting is
on a private beachfront estate at Ko Olina on the westside of
Oahu. Try your hand at the arts, crafts and games of the islands
and view exciting shows, including an imu (underground oven)
ceremony. The sunsets are spectacular and the luau buffet is
sumptuous. The highlight of the evening show is a spine-tingling
fire-knife dance.
Polynesian Cultural Center. Another must-do for those interested in a little
culture. You'll be greeted by friendly islanders representing
seven different Polynesian groups--Fiji, Hawaii, the Marquesas,
New Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti, and Tonga. Explore their villages,
learn their songs and dances and admire their beautiful arts
and crafts. Visit the villages during the day and stay for the
buffet and lavish musical production in the evening.
Society of Seven.
The SOS dazzles audiences with their outstanding choreography,
costumes and music from Broadway show tunes to old and new pop
hits. There's always something new in the show so if you've seen
them before you'll want to see them again.
Maui
Marriott Luau.
The Maui Marriott is home to Kaanapali's finest beachside luau.
Before the show and feast begin, share in several fascinating
cultural demonstrations such as lei making, coconut cutting,
Ti leaf skirt weaving, hula lessons, and more. Then sit back
and enjoy a beautiful sunset followed by a sumptuous Hawaiian
feast and an exciting night of Polynesian entertainment, song
and dance.
The Big Island
Island Breeze Luau.
An evening of royal Polynesian feasting and authentic island
entertainment awaits at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. Featured
in the 22-dish luau buffet are a wide variety of entrees including
kalua pig, fish and vegetarian dishes. Set at the former beachfront
estate of King Kamehameha.
Royal Kona Resort Luau. This extravaganza starts off with an all-you-can-eat
buffet in an oceanfront haven and an open bar. After dinner the
Polynesian spectacle features Tihati's "Drums of Polynesia,"
which takes you on a fast-paced, entertaining musical journey
through Hawaii and the South Pacific.
Kauai
Coconut Marketplace.
There's a free hula shows at 5 p.m. daily except Sundays at this
shopping center. Performing is the world-famous hula halau Na
Hula O Kaohikukapulani, who has received numerous awards and
recognition from major exhibitions worldwide.
