NA KEIKI O KA' AINA

(Children of the Land)

Na Keiki O Ka'Aina is a collaboration between Makaha Elementary School, Hale Na'au Pono(Wai'anae Coast Community Mental Healt Center) and Hoa'Aina O Makaha. The Program integates science and health curricula with hands-on activities on the farm.

The students learn how to care for the land and each other while planting crops, raising animal and fish, and studyng Hawaiian culture. Na Keiki O Ka'Aina also addresses concerns about nutrition, land use, world hunger and alternative energy.
