SEA VEGETABLES

SPONSOR A SEAVEGGIE

In 1982 Dr. Jack Davidson, as Director of the University of Hawaii Sea Grant program sponsored a study of the tumble culture of "nori" in deep ocean water. Student Stephen Katase, conducted the study in a tank four feet high and six feet in diameter. To every ones joy and surprise the nori increased in bio-mass at the rate of 55% per day. Mr. Katase has now developed his own farm and is now in the profitable production and sale of nori, ogo, limu, and a host of Hawaiian and Asian " algae.

A large number of tasty and nutritious "sea vegetables" are easily produced with deep ocean water. The processes here involved are simple. Immediate production (one month after initial operation) of "sea vegetables" for hotels and local consumption is highly feasible and clearly profitable.

The spectrum of sea grasses and algae is very large and to date most of the production has been based on the Asian palate. There are however quite a number that would appeal to Western tastes and CHC intends to include one or more tumble culture 'sea vegetables' in its demonstration facility. Sponsorship of such a tank for a sea product that suits your taste would be mutually beneficial. Our current estimate of sponsorship is $3,000.00. SIGN UP today!! Then go back to the Sponsors Table or the CH Corporation or the CH Universe. In any event "work to save humanity's common heritage". This was the exhortation of our forbears.
