WATER WATER EVERYWHERE
NOR ANY DROP TO DRINK
THE HURRICANE TOWER
Fresh Water generation through simulation of natures hurricanes
The ancient mariner nearly perished of hydration in the middle
of the ocean because he was ignorant of the physics of the sea
and its atmosphere. If he were not, he would have sailed to the
tropics, found a hurricane and been inundated with all the fresh
water he could handle. How does the hurricane make fresh water?
Due to the earth's rotation and the drag of the atmosphere and
the non- homogeneity of solar radiation, lots of small vortices
are generated in the tropical ocean. Educated physicists called
hydrodynamicists know that these vortices tend to collect and
roll up into one big vortex. The paradigm is:
Big whorls feed on little whorls and so on to vorticity
But viscosity and friction will cause vortices to decay. The paradigm
is
Little whorls feed on big whorls and so on to viscosity
With these paradigms operative we get lots of small tropical storms
in the tropics, unless - the surface of the water is so warm that
energy keeps feeding in to overcome viscous decay. Then the tropical
storm rolls up into a very tight powerful vortex called a hurricane.
SO WHAT!!
Educated physicists called hydrodynamicists know that a hurricane-like
vortex will produce a vortex at right angles which carries moist
air from the free surface up the sides of the rotating vortex
to the top of the hurricane. There it creates and is deflected
by a sheet of ice caused by the cold of the upper atmosphere.
The now supersaturated air spins outward and goes down to the
water where it spins inward and spirals up again.
Two more paradigms;Warm moist air spirals up - up and up it goes - round and round
it goes until it hits the sheet of ice.
Cold wet watery air spirals down - down and down it goes - round
and round it goes - raining fresh water all the way until it hits
the surface of the sea.
So the modern mariner can find natural fresh water generated in
the ocean in buckets at the edge of the hurricane's core. But
the mariner of the future may not want to find or wait for nature's
distillery to go into operation. So the modern technologist of
environmentally sustainable development designs a tower to simulate
a hurricane.
VOILA!
A rotor spinning with a peripheral velocity of 100 mph simulates
the hurricane vortex. Solar heated surface water simulates the
surface of the sea. A cold plate made cold with deep ocean water
simulates the lenticular cloud of ice. The ring vortex which does
the work will now just naturally appear.
WILL IT WORK?
Not as long as we only talk about environmentally sustainable
development. But CHC and Oceanit are building the world's first
prototype at the CHC facility in Hawaii. This week we poured the
foundation for the tower

What we now need is dough - not from investors, because this tower
is for the common heritage and not for greed and CHC has the patents
- not from Federal or State grants, because all that seems to
be generated is forest destroying paperwork - not from CHC, because
it is spending all its creativity on technical and social progress
and not on fund raising.
So why don't some of you eleemosynary lawyers organize a Common
Heritage Trust where widow's mites and rich folks bytes can pay
for pipes and pumps and ponds in places where infant children
cry for bread and no one breaketh it to feed them.
