COFFEE FROM A ROOT?

CHICORY

SUPPORT THE COMMON HERITAGE

Chicory, also known as radichio, grows wild here in our garden. It is a lettuce or dandelion-like plant which produces bitter leaves. Not surprisingly, the chicory in our garden is extremely bitter due to the difference in temperature between the root and the fruit which allows for maximum nutrient uptake. However, we are still conducting experiments in order to determine if this is in fact the case.Sometimes chicory is used as a tonic for kidneys, or it can also be dried and roasted to make a coffee-like beverage.
